     Sunday, July 3rd began with a five hour drive north. Along the way we made a spontaneous bathroom stop in a tiny town called Claireview. At first it did not look like anything at all, but there was a gorgeous beach there for us to explore. The tide was out so we walked out past the sand to the colorful rocks. There were picturesque trees growing out of the shallows of the ocean. In the distance were mountainous islands. At the end of the five hour trip we stopped for lunch before loading up to continue driving another few hours north.

     In the late afternoon we arrived at Airlie Beach. We walked around the harbor, bay and the main street. I became Joe Tourist by purchasing a didgeridoo. In the evening we checked into the Club Crocodile Resort; however I think it was a self proclamation of the word "resort".
