Miranda and I have very different tastes in what we call adventure!  Miranda loves to see and do things, shop museums parks etc.  While I enjoy participating in those things, my favorite thing to do is just hang out and be one with nature.  Sedona AZ is the one place where Miranda and I both agree, was absolutely spectacular!  The huge rock formations set back among the tall pines and streams simply took my breath away!  We made the hour drive from Williams Arizona down to Sedona and were able to spend the evening there.  I thought that AZ was mostly desert, with more desert, followed by a cactus, some sand, and more desert.  I never realized how beautiful northern Arizona was!  And I have to say, this place has moved up to my #1 spot over Colorado!  We stopped along the way and took a small hike along the rim and into Slide Rock state park.  By the time we were able to get there, the park was already closed - but we were still able to take some spectacular pictures in the immediate vicinity.  I hope to be able to come back some time during the summer, as there appears to be a lot of activities that we would enjoy!

You should definitely take the girls to slide rock when it's warmer. The water stays really cold year long, but the kids all seemed to love it. It's a long natural waterside down the rocks. James would agree-that was one of the first trips we took together, and he decided that's where he wanted to retire. Did you see any aliens or have any crystals tell your future? :-)
