Where I stayed
i just wanna lay in my bed...(bruno mars)
that were exactly my thoughts when i woke up this morning and heared the rain pouring outside...why get up on another rainy day...but as i always tell my guests that 'hey i can do a lot, but i can not change the weather and just try to enjoy your holiday' i decided i should follow my own advice...and so i did, after having changed 'my plan' ( I KNOW the best plan is not having one, but at some point you do have to make some decisions) 1000 times, i went to discover a little more of Phitsanulok...and i can tell you, its a little, cause this is really the hole of Pluto ( i know, another non saying in English but i just love to make up my own language ;)
Now, first some things i want to tell you more
About this blog
i absolutely love the comments and i thank all of you for reading and following me...you have no idea how it just sometimes makes my day...i can not answer to all comments, in fact till now i didnt answer to any of them, but please dont stop writing them...it really means a lot to me
for the ones wanting to make a book of it (great idea i have to admit ;) i will sign it when i see you next time...
About Bangkok
haha Bangkok, instead of 'the city of angels' i would prefer to call it 'the city with 100.000 and more faces'...i love it and hate it...strange feeling isnt it? After i wrote my last blog i went out for a drink...Bangkok by night is definetly more my thing than Bangkok by day, ...i was having a beer in "Roof" when i met 2 fantastic dutch guys (yeah dutch people can be fun :P ) Karl and his friend (forgot his name)...was such a spontaneous and easy going evening, which even ended in the Club (this is how good Thai people are in finding names, The Roof, The Club...;) Its so nice to meet other people and listen to where they have been and where they are going...and even hoping that during the same trip i will meet them again...
The night ended way too late and i woke up way too early with a little headache, hm hm...
About Ayuthaya, Kanchanaburi and Phitsanulok
The former capital of Thailand, Ayuthaya is till now my favorite place...i took a train from Bkk, 2 hours ride and it cost me only 15 baht, which is not even 40 eurocent...immagine! The first afternoon i was there i just hang out with a Belgian couple, Koen and Fien, jaja you would really start to think there are no Thai people living in Thailand...it was raining so hard that we could not really do visiting but on the end of the afternoon we made a nice boattrip and found a nice local bar with some funny live singing,,,
The next morning i left for Kanchanaburi, in the middle of nowhere, where i found a very cosy guesthouse and just hung out with an Australian guy being too much Australian...for some people who might remember, a 'Brett'kind of guy but only years older...he told me the next day he was going to take me to the nice Erawan falls by scooter, but after 30 minutes waiting in the morning and him not showing up, i just went there by bus...the advantage of travelling alone, not having to wait for somebody else :D The falls were nice, a bit too wet due to the weather, but honestly i think i have been spoiled in falls in Jamaica!!
Next morning i took a 5 hour bustrip back to Ayuthaya because i hadnt seen a lot of it...on the bus i met again a very nice Dutch couple, Kristel and her boyfriend (damn, i really have to start writing down names) who joined me for a quiet evening in town...
You can visit most of Ayuthaya by bike so thats what i did the next morning and i never thought i would enjoy riding a bicycle that much...
And now, ladies and gents, since yesterday, i arrived in Phitsanulok, wouldnt be surprised if you can not find it on the map, cause there is nothing...but i had another great day...
This morning i ran into an italian guy, man, i didnt know italian people can talk this much...he took off in the afternoon and i went to visit a very nice temple (i LOVE temples, i was just sitting there for 30 minutes relaxing and realised i could perfectly be a buddhist) and even allowed myself to do some shopping...cause for one thing, Phitsanulok is the cheapest of the cheapest, i dont even dare to bargain cause otherwise there is nothing left...i bought a fishermans pants, only thing left now is to find out how to wear it...:/ for sure i already know what to buy for my sister's first born
Walking home from the market i ran into the Italian again, his train never came because it has been raining so much lately...
Tomorrow im off to Sukhotai, and im looking forward to it so much, i have very big expectations of this town so it better be good ;)
By the way, did you know that
-the weather in Thailand is soooo hot, but for the moment very very rainy
-the water of most of the guesthouses is soooo cold but after hot days you dont really mind
-you better dont fall asleep in the train while travelling alone and listening to your music...before you know you wake up somewhere else (jep it ALMOST happened to me)
-you get used to entering a bar alone and having a beer alone really fast
-tips of other travellers are useful, interesting but sometimes confusing your own 'plans'
-i have no more idea what day, date and time it is
-you better dont leave your sweater in the last bar at night...you might get it back the next day, but the housecat might have been peeing on it...(jep it happened to me)
-i exchanged lonely planet for rough guide because they are way better, less touristic and more up to date even though i have the one from 2008
-i just love travelling alone, but im sure its making me even more selfish (if that is even possible)
-my mom and dad are even thinking of joining me some days in december...how cool is that??
-i no longer suffer from my feet phobia cause in the waterfalls there were fish that came to bite at my feet, so tickly hihihiiihihi
-i became a real sudoko freak and im really good at it (oh my god...am i a total einzelganger now???)
-i am really more emotional than some people might think, this is for sure already something i learned about myself...seeing such nice places just makes me want to cry sometimes (oh my god, am i normal???)
-in 8 days one of my best friends, Hanneke is joining me for some weeks (jep another very very very very nice Dutch person)
-this trip is getting even more and more CARPE DIEM
so, the Italian just came in, so i think we are going for a drink...i will be back soon with some more of my stories...looking forward to reading yours
