Salta Argentina is lovely - doesn't look like any part of South America that I have seen so far - westernized, European looking and completely lacking that 'south America' feel and colorful images.

And.....popcorn and candy apples and my favorite food in the whole world - street fries with mayonnaise on every corner.  This is the promised land for a junk food junkie like me.  With the fry stands they serve giant - 'panchas' - foot long hotdgs with crushed potato chips on top.....OMG - pigout heaven.  Everybody else is talking about the huge hunks of beef - the 'asados' or bbq's at every restaurant - nope, nada, give me the street crap any day.
