Where I stayed
revel and rave and dance and sleep.
Only to awake and attack all over again,
tireless, hungrily and with purpose towards an end.
Passion burning with the soundtrack of the city,
blasting through my soul and bones,
Electric lights flame and sound soars,
vibrates to the core and leaves me wanting more.
Prowling like a sleek cat in the trees,
slinking, skulking, stealthy, graceful.
Threads of muscle moving in rhythm with my soul,
Pouncing on the prey of life, the path forward our only goal.
The hunt for greatness, elusive and palpable at the end of the road,
Following it with steady eyes and the never ending will to go.
Nothing more is ever gained nor wanted,
wandering believers of the unbound always relish in the challenge.
A coy fox laying lustrous in the leaves,
seductive and tempting and welcoming me.
The world spinning and swirling in a dizzying flurry,
caught up in the breeze of what may be.
Lost in her eyes, such an enchanting feeling,
piercing and lovely, but sorrow hides her smile.
To rush and let go before the pain of departing,
leaves a hole in her heart where no others go.
Smile sweet child, love and live wild,
feast and break free of all that desires.
Know there's only today and what will be will be,
but tomorrow is eternal and the past never leaves.
This moment is real, and the next, and the next,
it’s all that will matter when the chips come to rest.
That you lived fully and freely with joy in each breath,
without the fear of before - lay your sorrows to rest.
Know deep within you that although everything dies and is reborn,
life, love and nature are never left torn.
Just a constant flow of energy, impermanent ever changing
take heart, beautiful, in its endless beginnings.
Lean sweetly on me as I’ll lean on you,
twist and twirl through this life like a dancer on cue.
And watch it with a smile as it all unfolds,
random, spontaneous, and purposefully so.
The universe will always have a way of putting things right,
just trust in the silent whispers of black starry nights.
