Finally arrived after a long 20 hour flight. Slept on the plane and everything feels like a dream, being supplanted from one part of the world to the other. Sean and I talked about the turbulent throes, a pendulum of emotions the whole ride over. Fearless anticipation and exhilaration at the thought of the adventure that lay ahead of us, and at the same time, doubt, longing, questioning our decision. The flight was just the beginning. A whole world of possibilities spread before us and our minds overloaded these past few months with all the positive, jubilant realizations of our new existence. I suppose that's why we both recognized the past couple days have been odd and detached for both of us. Talking about it over beers on a nameless corner blocks from the beaten path of the sky tram, we simultaneously recognized the shared experience of emptiness and underwhelming over the whole situation. Our words rolled on as scooters buzzed down the street, songs of local conversation streamed by, a Thai boxing match fizzed in the background of an old TV, the hum of the city… alive. We talked about life, love, relationships, growth, maturity, adventure, spirit… Everything that makes this existence worth living. And when all words were spent, we sat in silent contemplation and muddled smiles at the thought of where we were in that exact moment. On the corner of a nameless street, in Bangkok, Thailand. A whole world of possibilities await… the adventure begins.
