The boat was called 'Freight train' and was a ocean racer that became quite famous in the eighties when it won the Sydney to Hobart race. We did some high speed sailing (very exciting, even for me with my water phobia!) and visited the infamous Whitehaven Beach with its beautiful silicon sand as well as South Molle and Hook Islands.
The islands are right in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef so I got to some more snorkeling too
We were quite lucky that we didn't experience any rough seas. And other than our dinghy breaking down and having to share a tent with a strange man (I'll fill you in on my return, I'm still traumatised) the trip was a very enjoyable!
I felt like I was swaying for a few days when I got back to the mainland. We had a post-trip night out which was good craic and I met up with Liberty, Katie again and their Canadian friend Lisa. I spent a few days chilling (and adjusting to dry land) before heading on to the Town of 1770.
