I spent a week in Tasmania but didn't see any devils - darn it!
I flew into Launceston which is the second biggest city (after Hobart) and on the north side of the island. After 2 nights there then travelled along the east coast, taking in some of the small coastal towns enroute including Bicheno and Richmond, which has the oldest existing church in Australia. The journey was very scenic, lovely landscape and sometimes reminded me of Ireland - but the homesickness has passed by the time we reached Hobart. its a lovely port city with the mountains as a backdrop and is very picturesque. Theres a fab market there too - lots of lovely arts and crafts and chocolate. mmmm.....
We stayed the weekend with Judy's artist cousin Kaye who is really lovely and so hospitable, i didn't want to leave! shes got a super cool cat called Megumi who made us all feel very at home. I'll be back some day!
Myself and Lydia, my Aussie cousin, also paid an essential visit to the Cadburys factory for a guided tour. it was choctastic! the scome-down afterwards wasn't so great...
