Dear Faithful,

I know I have been a big jar of weak sauce lately and have not updated my blog. I will attempt to improve my blogging... especially since Gus started a blog and I need to compete.

Soooo, my lovely mother arrived about two weeks ago and we have been having a ball. We went to Lijiang and stayed a week in Xiao Yu's guest house (Alex's Girlfriends Place). Alex accompanied us on the drive there and he stayed with us in Lijijang. Pat flew to Lijiang a few days later. We had a nice time together in Lijiang UNTIL Pat brought the plague. Pat, Xiao Yu and I were sick as dogs for about two days. I was miserably sick, but at the same time lucky. My mom was there and everyone knows if you are going to be sick, having mama around is amazing.

After Lijiang, my mother and I went to Xishuangbana. It is in the south of Yunnan. On the border of Burma. It was beautiful, tropical and a constant 75 degrees. We hiked through minority villages, hiked in the rainforest and straight chilled. Isabelle joined us and had a hell of a time running through sugar cane fields and tea crops. There was fresh water for her to swim in and she chased Vietnamese potbellied pigs all day!! After a week there we headed back to Chongqing and we are still here now. We are awaiting the Chinese New Year!

My dearest childhood brother, Gustav (Gus) Orangatangus Teren IV arrived two days ago in the dear harmonious society we call the Middle Kingdom. He is loving it. He is fascinated by the wild tones in the language and he is still in shock. Has has had hotpot (he didn't like it), dishes, noodles, dried meat and duck tongue. He has also had pig intestines, duck intestines, pig ears, and a whole hell of a list of crazy animal parts. It's China. I introduced him to the local single guy bar where guys go and the women working there accompany them and play drinking games and flirt all night. We had a big group so they didn't bother us, but it is an interesting experience. Last night we hit up a big Chinese style club. Gus got battered. Everybody was showing of their knowledge of the Chinese drinking culture and drinking with him to welcome him to China.

Tonight my buddy is opening a western style Rasta bar so we are going to check it out after having some Indian food.

I have loads of pics, but I don't have the time to upload them now. They will soon be up.

From China With Love,

-Percy
