Lund Sweden, my temporary new home. It's a home filled with blondes who through some genetic phenomenon are too attractive, too physically fit, and are too fashionable. I've been here for a few weeks and have settled in nicely. I am living in a dorm called 'Sparta' and living in a Swedish corridor. This has its perks as I get my own bathroom where students in international corridors are left to share cramped, poorly cleaned shared facilities... I have already gone through that phase in my life and am happy to move on. Whoever had lived in my room previously did leave me with an assortment of goodies. Everything from candles to a pair of dress shoes to a fantastic couch fresh from the 80's was all left to me, life is good. The other great perk in my room is a great old Ikea light hanging in the center of my room. You can extend the light down by pulling on it to put the light at different levels. Really a genius invention. However I was trying to see how far I could pull it down when Garrett (another osu exchanger) warned me I would break it. Naturally the born rebel I am I decided to tempt fate... fate won. The light shorted out and now permanently hangs at head level which has caused one too many bruises from bashing my head.   Anyways everyone here is very nice and outgoing in my dorm which is good to see. I was lucky enough to move in across the hall from a Swede named Gustav who is from Gothenburg. Also my friend Laura and fellow Oregon State exchanger got moved into Sparta as well so I have my close friend nearby to provide a better opportunity to hang out (considering her previous dorm wasn't even on the map of Lund).

Coming all this way to Sweden with all the things you could go out and do like traveling, drinking, and debauchery of all shades and colors you can easily forget to mention class. Class here is broken into two blocks, I take two courses for the first half of the semester and then take two more during the second half of the semester. I only have class twice a week, typically mon/tues, for around 2 hours a class. The time you spend in class gets cut down a little since it includes starting 15 mins late and a 15 minute break in the middle. So this either means class will be very easy... or a great deal of out of class reading. I believe it will ultimately be the latter but will keep my fingers crossed.   My dorm is right next to the Economics/business building which will be good when it really starts raining hard.
