On the last full day of my time in Chitwan National Park I went on an elephant safari, and it was AMAZING. The jeep-safari the other day was not my cup of tea as we only got to see small and "un-exotic" animals, but sitting on the back of the elephant we didn't make "odd" sounds and therefore we got to see the one-horn rhino up and close.

I have tried several modes of transportation, and several ways of riding an elephant, this one was however a little peculiar, four people was stuffed into a basket on the elephant's back, one person at each corner (of the elephant;-)

The safari was very exiting, but by the time we disembarked/de-elephanted/got off/fell off/crawled off/or whatever the correct word is, we were all very sore in our legs, butts and ribcages.

In the evening we got to enjoy a Thauru dance performance, which was very intriguing, especially the fire dance.
