Awaking early, we make it to Pompeii to be one of the first to visit the ruins. 8.30am, we enter the site with 5 stray dogs (which live amongst the ruins) and begin our shared audio tour. After 30 minutes of detailed audio tour, Donna decides to explore a near by street whist Soren continues to listen to the monotone voice of the narrator. As you may guess, we become separated and despite our attempts to find each other, we couldn't. Four hours later, we find each other at the exit gate, hot, tired and overwhelmed at the amount of people now flocking to the site. Highlights of the visit:

Seeing preserved ruins intact with fresco’s and decorations
Seeing the paintings of sexual positions (early Karma sutra) on the walls of one building. Which turned out to be the prostitute house of the town.
Seeing the bath complex complete with inner wall heating with multiple baths and plunge pools.
