Hola everyone! I know it's only been a day, but I thought I'd go ahead and upload my pictures from today. After both of my classes, I went with my usual group to Ex-Carcel (the ex-prison) to paint a little grafitti of my own! As you can see from the pictures, we started painting over a wall that already had some writing on it. Our painting took up two rolls. If you look closely, you can see the man (that Charkypunk painted) on the far right, holding a small camera. Each of us (I believe there were 13) were able to paint in a square of the film strip from this camera! Everyone did a really neat job!
I was not sure what I was going to draw at first, but I went ahead and painted the background green because hardly anyone else was doing that color. I guess I just felt like being different today! I decided to paint a sun and the sea. After that, I wanted to incorporate my name in it somewhere. I began making the letters of my name look like birds flying in the sky, but the letters r and n just didn't cut it - haha! Next, I drew a sailboat in the water and an abstract design in the middle (which I think kind of looks like a kite flying over the sea). I was pretty proud of my painting, and now when I come back to visit, I can go there and see my own grafitti!
Chao y besitos!
