I know Marrakech is the destination of the moment, or so it seems every time I open a newspaper. The city does little for me; it's exciting for the first 24 hours and a 'must to there' but I quickly long for the mountains and the desert - the reason why I go to Morocco in the first place. I prefer to wander through the desert dunes and feel the sand between my toes; to sit with the nomads in their caves and drink mint tea; to ramble across an ancient landscape and feel free.
