After making it through the hilly but beautiful Ardennes to Luxembourg, we jumped on the train down to the Loire Valley in France to Orleans. From there it was a beautiful week of riding along the Loire river. As Lach says - prarie girl was loving it (all flat with an imperceptible down hill slope). On top of it it is all on the Loire Valley cycle path which was great - totally recommend it to anyone thinking of going cycling, absolutely beautiful and so easy. Since it was so cruisey we were able to knock out our 50-60km by lunch time and spent the rest of our time visiting castles, eating a lot of french cheese and drinking nice French wine. Yum!
The lowlight of the Loire was Lach being denied from the campground swimming pool because he didn't have any speedos (apparently it's against the law in parts of France to wear boardies). Lach was not happy after a day's riding in the heat - I won't repeat what he said but it was something to the effect of 'I'm Australian, we tell you what you should be wearing swimming Frenchie'
