Day 14 Goa
This isn't going to be a long one! In short we are now in The Coconut Creek resort at Bogmallo beach in Goa.
Paradise! Palm trees, Indian ocean, Golden sand Temperature around 30 degrees.
Just a shamelessly lazy and decadent day where the only decisions were Beach or poolside - and whether to lie on our backs or fronts!!!
I took a walk down to the end of the beach where I could make out a kind of shrine thing - and it turned out to be Jesus! Goa has been under many years of Portuguese influence so this was a reminder of that. (Made a differnce from Ganesh et al!)
So we both finished our Kindle books and Mick fell asleep listening to Planxty! Happy days!
The resort is lovely - studio apartments around a pool - surrounded by palm trees and a lovely clubhouse / restaurant in the middle with friendly staff. Run by 3 brothers and one of them is married to a Scottish woman called Lynn - very nice person. There's a path that leads directly to the beach and a great restaurant called Joets! (Yes Don - still there and a fabulous menu!) Tonight though we are eating in the clubhouse - just ordered surf and turf!

Don Thompson on

Joet's was little more than a beach shack when I visited, I do recall someone getting a head massage there: it looked painful! Before my visit to India the best advice was to eat what the locals eat, stay away from western foods so I'd have steered clear of surf & turf. The first European charter flight arrived a few days before I left, we watched from the Indian Navy Air Arm buildings as the pilot took a low pass over the airport before he landed - there was a very pronounced 'hump' about two thirds along the runway so the far end isn't in sight from the touch down zone.
