Today is Thanksgiving in America, but not in Japan. However, this year, Thanksgiving day just happened to fall on "Labor Day" in Japan, so I didn't have to go to classes. That was awesome! Well, they don't have turkey in Japan or most of the other typical "Thanksgiving" foods, but I think some people manage to find them, probably at a high cost. So, I didn't have a Thanksgiving meal, and I was kind of homesick for my family, but I got to talk to them on the phone for a long time.
But I did get to do something else that was really fun. Sometimes on Thursday nights, I join a program in my dorm called "Let's Talk Japanese" where older Japanese people come and just help us learn to speak in Japanese better. They are all really nice. And since it was a Japanese holiday, they took whoever wanted to go to Minoo park in Osaka. Minoo park is one of the famous Osaka spots for autumn leaves. You just walk up the road with a river next to you and amazing fall leaves, and the famous part is the waterfall at the top of the road. It was so beautiful and one of my favorite adventures so far.
