So we have spent our last days in a hotel with hot water in Semnyak, Bali . I cant say we love this place. For the most part it is dirty, busy and loud. We checked out kuta as well - and to some up what kuta, bali is like: mike ate macdonalds (gross). Makes us miss Lombok!! But not all is bad, when you look past the piles of garbage, the beach is beautiful - and there is lots to do. Today we had wicked hot weather and a good beach day...mike decided he was going to try surfing and didnt even didn't hurt himself too bad. So I need to get back to my Bintang - as these are our last.
Although I don't have a lot of love for Bali (the parts that we've been to anyways)...I wish I was on my way back to kuta Lombok (NOT kuta Bali), or to the gilis....Or even Flores rather than Calgary and the cold--and work.
So some highlights:
- kuta, Lombok = best beach!! beautiful unspoiled beaches!!
- gili T = most fun. So much to do! Great vibe, beaches, snorkeling
-Komodo dragons = awesome.
-Bintang = yummy
-mike will also make me add the boat trip as a highligt, as the places we saw, and peeps we shared he experience with were awesome...I hated that fucking boat! And everyday I am shocked that the boat didn't sink...for reals! That boat was sketchy! Not to mention sleeping on the deck, sailing at nit, the sound of the evil motor, and of course the dirty squat toilet/ hole in the floor.
K. Now back to the Bintang
