After we got off the train, we walked straight to our Hotel, and organised to do a Sound of Music Tour, something Erik had been dying to do all holiday (NOT)! We got picked up by a bus and dropped at the meeting point. There we got on a coach bus with another 40 people and travelled to a few different places that the movie was filmed at. Since I haven't watched the movie in such a long time, I couldn’t remember any of it anyways.
The scenery was really nice, especially once we got out into the mountains, but the Tour Guide was quite strange, and the tour was fairly boring – felt like a lemming getting on and off the bus snapping photos along with all the others…plus Erik was not into it at all!
We got to the Town Where Julie Andrews married the Baron in the fancy church. We went to a café and had Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce and Ice Cream – it was delicious!! We then caught the bus back to Salzburg.
Most of the shops were shut, so we went out to an Austrian Restaurant for dinner. The servings were massive, I had some nice salad, and Erik had the biggest plate of ribs I’ve ever seen – and yes he ate them all! As well as a pint of beer!!
When we got back to the room, there were a couple of other random people that we were sharing with, they were Asian and told us that they were going to be leaving early in the morning and hoped their alarm wouldn’t wake us up… Well at around 3am, I woke up because they had turned the heat right up in the room, and the guy was snoring so loud for such a long time. I couldn’t bear having to put up with the noise by myself so I woke Erik up too haha! Finally after about half an hour he stopped snoring. Erik was ropable for me waking him up haha!!
Then around 6am we woke up again to them packing their bags, and playing with so many plastic bags for about half an hour, I was so cross. Erik sat up in bed and just stared at them shaking his head– they just ignored him…
After probably another hour of sleep our alarms went off and we packed our bags and left.
