We saw the changing of the Guards out the front of Parliament House, it was very comical. They wear pleated skirts, cream tights & their shoes have pom-poms on the end of them and they do a little dance before switching to the next guards.
We got up before 5am to go to the Port to catch the ferry to Mykonos
The place we were staying was very average, just a dark dingy room with not much air flow. That night we were bitten alive by mozzies it was horrible.
We spent the afternoon lazing by the pool, having a few cocktails & 2 Euro Souvlakis and getting nice and tanned.
The strange thing about Greece is they have really bad plumbing, and you cannot flush any toilet paper down the toilet, you have to put it in the bins provided, so I'm sure you can imagine how stinky and gross the toilets can be!
We hired 4 wheelers and drove around Mykonos town with a few people from the Topdeck tour, it was so much fun, and the people we hired the bikes from recommend not to use helmets because it's just another thing to worry about having stolen, so we were all going crazy on these 4 wheelers without helmets (sorry mum)!
We went to little Venice for lunch and dinner - it's just a little strip of cute houses, shops & restaurants on the water right near the famous Mykonos windmills
We also went to a few of the beaches, called Paradise and Super Paradise! Pretty self explanatory!
We basically spent 3 days totally relaxing in Mykonos and I loved every minute of it!!
We caught a ferry back to Athens after only a couple hours of sleep the night before, so we slept for a few hours before arriving. When we got into Athens we went into the Plaka area and had some lunch, but we were all so knackered so we went back to the hotel to bed... Great way to end the last night of our tour haha!
In the morning we said goodbye to the people on our tour, and moved all our stuff to a different Hostel in a better part of town. We spent the day doing a bit of shopping, went up to the Acropolis, and since it was Jonny and Sarah's last night of holidays we bought groceries and cooked our own delicious food for dinner.
In the morning we walked Sarah, Jonny & Claire (a girl we met on tour), to the train station and said our teary goodbyes. It was a pretty stormy and rainy day after they left, so we did a massive load of laundry, did a tiny bit of shopping, then just killed time til we left the next day to CROATIA!!!!
