We FINALLY got to the Greek islands after a rediculous amount of travel time on ferries and busses and trains and just about any other form of transportation available. I am just surprised that we haven't had to ride a donkey or roller skate to a new destination.

Ios is about laying on the beach and partying at night. It is famous for its partying and beautiful women and it didn't fail to impress us. We are staying in Olga's Pension and Olga is a nice old lady who greeted us with figs and cookies before leading us to our room. It has AC, our own kitchen(which practically payed for the room with how much money we saved doing our own cooking), and a pool. There is no beating this place.

We needed a little rest and relaxation after the ferry, so we went and sat by the pool before then heading out to one of the coolest beaches in the world and chilled out there for a little while. Mylopotas beach is the most famous beach for its gorgeous women and huge waves. Tyler started his day on the beach by jumping into the water, connecting with a huge wave, being tumbled about before cracking his knee on a rock, and spent the rest of his day out of the water nursing his wound. Nice work buddy!

On a more positive note, the women on this island are amazing(more amazing than anything we have seen so far) and after talking up how hot all the girls are here to Tyler and Monte, we were more than happy to show them. Lets just say that they didn't close their mouths for about 5 minutes while they stared around. It is just rediculous.

We spent our first night there drinking out on our porch and then Tyler and I had a little too much to drink and decided not to go out to the town. We were so tired from the ferry and you combine that with food and alcohol and it lowers your interest in walking around and dancing all night.

The next morning, we woke up and made a good breakfast in our kitchen before going back to Mylopotas beach for another day of lounging around. We spent a solid 7 hours lounging in and around the beach and I knew it by the end of the day. I don't get burnt much any more because I have spent so much time in the sun so far but after that day, I was a little toasty. We went back and made another good dinner at our hotels kitchen before having a couple of drinks and then heading out for my first taste of Ios night life.

I have to dedicate a little time to describing Ios nightlife. It is known as THE party island in Greece and one of the biggest parties in the world. We started at a place called the Fun Pub and played some lifesize Jenga and pool for a couple of hours. Well that place starts clearing out at 12pm and everyone goes into the old town. The old town section has about 25 clubs or bars down this one street and it has something for everyone. House, blues, rock, metal, 80s music, and just about anything in between can be found at these places. In fact, every place has a happy hour from 12am till 2am when cover at every place is free and the places that don't have happy hour don't even open until 2am. I am serious, they don't OPEN till 2am. We walked around and checked out a bunch of different places before getting stuck in a traffic jam at 3am. This was a walking traffic jam because the streets are so small and there are so many people out. We finally had our fill at 4am and headed for home for the night.

After that night, we woke reasonably late the next day and spent it lounging around in the shade at the beach. The private beaches all have umbrellas and chairs you can "rent" by buying a drink at their bar. Well we all spent 25 cents for a water and lounged there for free the rest of the day. We didn't want any sun so we were willing to splurge a little for the luxury of the umbrella. We went out for dinner that night because we were tired of cooking all our meals and then did our drinking on the patio routine before heading out for our last night in Ios. It was as crazy as the last one and we even ran into the Aussies from the ferry. We spent the night hanging with them before going down to the beach in search of a huge party we had heard of. Well, the beach usually has busses running between it and our hotel but the busses stop running at 1am and it is 7:30 am before we are ready to head home. I ended up walking about 45 minutes up and over a mountain to get back to my hotel. The walk was horrible but watching the sun rise over the Greek Islands almost made it worth it. I finally got some sleep at about 8am but then had to get up at 9:30 to catch another ferry to Naxos. I LOVE FERRIES.....

Naxos is known as more of a family island with a more laid back culture and will be a nice break from the out of control Ios.
