Lagos is a lazy beach town that caters to tourists from all over the world. It is extremly touristy but there is a good reason for that, it is beautiful. It is a small town with a 7 km long beach, a huge marina, and naturally made caves that cut into the side of the cliffs that seperate the town from the water.

Our Pension is actually more like a hotel than somebodies house but it is clean, nice, has free breakfast, and is only about 2 minutes from the beach. Cant beat that for 20 Euro a night. We spent our first day here on the beach and then spent the night partying with EVERYONE IN TOWN. Portugal played England in a semifinal world cup match and Portugal won. That means that everyone in town was going nuts from 4 pm when the game started all the way through the evening. The town was still going nuts at 2 when I went to sleep. It was fun when we watched the game in Spain, even though they lost but this experience blew that one out of the water. What was even more incredible is that Brazil lost to France which made everyone even more excited abou the Portugal win because now they get to play France instead of the intimidating Brazilians.

We didnt get much sleep last night because we had to wake up this morning early to go charter fishing. It was so cool. I have never been charter fishing before and even though we only caught little fish(and I caught a freakin sting ray), it was still a blast for four hours. I won the fish catching competition by catching the first fish, the most fish, and the biggest fish. I was disappointed that we couldnt eat any of the fish we caught because we didnt have a place to cook them. We ended up just giving them to the fisherman that took us out and he said the catch was worth an extra 20 Euros to him. It works out to be a pretty nice little bonus for him. We also tipped him an extra 5 bucks a person and he took us through all the caves that are cut into the cliff walls. People usually pay 15 euros just to go through the caves for an hour but we got 4 hours of fishing and the caves trip for only 35 euros per person. Ill just check Fishing in Portugal off of my list of things to do in life.

Tonight we are going to lay around on the beach more and then have another great seafood dinner here in town. Every restaurant offers fantastic seafood dishes like grilled sardines or monk-fish rice. Im excited to try something new and fishy tonight. Tomorrow is going to suck because we have a huge day of travel from here to Grenada. We have to take 3 trains and a bus and it should take us somewhere in the area of 9 hours.....uhhhggggg. Ill make sure to post pictures of that exciting adventure next time Im on the computer.
