It's the first day of this 57 day 'vacation' and by now we are already exhausted. Britt and I took an uneventful 8 and 1/2 hour flight into London Gatwick and by the time we arrived we were already feeling the jet lag set in. We arrived at about 1 or 2 am Calgary time and it was about 8 am here in London. Thankfully, some relatives of Britt's (David, Lynda, Alana, and Sophie) picked us up from the airport saving us the hassle of having to figure out how to get from A to B. We are now staying the night at David and Lynda's home and quite honestly I haven't a clue where it is in comparison to everything else... but whatever... so anyways, we got to their home and cleaned up a little bit. We decided that we should battle the jet lag by trying to stay awake as long as possible, so, David drove into the more central part of London where we started a hop-on/hop-off bus tour. This meant that you had a pass for the day and you can get on and off at different stations depending on what you wanted to see. We did that for most of the day, which was surprising to me considering how tired I thought I would be, but the excitement and adrenaline helped I think. We stopped at a bunch of places including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, St. Thomas' hospital (to see the Florance Nightingale Museum), and Hyde Park (which has th Princess Diana Memorial fountain). I am far too tired right now to write all about every stop... but feel free to read Britt's entry which is far more detailed (bploh). We just finished having dinner at a very authentic indian restuarant and now we are SOOO ready for bed. I already miss everyone so much! Please keep in touch by emailing me at erica_v@telus.net.

Love,
Erica
