Where I stayed
Eighty Mile Beach Caravan Park
Our next stop was Eighty Mile Beach with its famous beach fishing. The caravan park is located 9 km off highway and the road is good, similar to Cape Leveque Road. The caravan park was very busy and almost all sites where taken. It was only 50 meters to the beach with was very similar to Cable Beach, wide with hard sand. Driving was possible and we tried it next day.
We are not beach people and we do not like sitting on the beach too much. On Eighty Mile Beach there are other activities like: beach fishing, collecting big, colourful shells, 4WD driving and sunset. I tried fishing for 2 days but with no luck again. Anyway, it was nice standing there with other fishermen and enjoying the time. The beach was full of them when high tide was coming. Every 50 meters there was a man standing with a rod. Kasha and Nell was walking on the beach and collecting shells and they were so different that in the end of our stay we had the whole bucket. We have also tried to first time drive on the beach. It was good, the sand was hard, and so I did not have to drop tyre pressure (getting lazy). It was possible to drive many kilometres north or south to explore this place. First time in my life I enjoyed beach. There was so much to do that the whole day went very quickly. If we drive this way in the future, we will stop there again for sure.
