Today we drove to long waited Jim Jim Falls. The 4WD track to the falls was closed after wet season and was recently reopen for tourists. First 50 kilometers is a gravel road which is well maintained and graded regularly. We did not expect it to be so good. There had only small corrugations in the last part. The road finishes at Garnamarr campground that offers showers, toilets and drinking water. From Garnamarr the road changes to 4WD track with areas of deep sand and creek crossings. The crossing was not deep at all and we could go through easily. The last section was little bit rougher but still all right.

The car park was full already at 11am and we found the last spot. The walk to Jim Jim Falls was pretty rough. In the beginning Nell was walking bravely with no worries. Later the walk has changes and we had to jump on really big rocks. Since that moment I had to carry Nell most of the time as with her small legs she could not stand on rocks properly. The walk was only 900 meters surrounded by mountains on both side but it took us 1 hour to get to falls base. The water was perfectly clear and views spectacular.

We took 30 minutes lunch break sitting on a flat rock and admiring Jim Jim that were flowing from 100 meters above. I cannot describe how beautiful it was, you have to be there to see it. There is no swimming in the pools due to salt water crocodiles. However some stupid people took a risk.

After we returned we were exhausted but happy like never before. Jim Jim Falls were the most spectacular so far in Australia.
