So we have been here three days now and coming up on the fourth night. Had a bit of a rough day yesterday as I found out from home that my beloved cat, Buddy, died. He was very loved and will be sorely missed. Yesterday (monday), Amy and I drove around the island on our motor scooter and visited the waterfall on the interior of the park. It was a lovely place with cool water and some welcome shade. We sat with our thoughts, both happy and sad, and I said that I was going to call this place Buddy Falls. We continued on and stumbled upon a sign that said Elephant camp. Since we are on Ko Chang (Elephant Island), we decided to check it out. Down a dirt road for a couple of miles and we were just in time for the next trip out. Down to the river to bathe them and then off into the jungle for a ride on top. There was a bench seat on top for us to sit in and a mahout(driver). After a while the driver jumped off and let me sit on its neck for the remainder of the trip. It was very cool. Had to hurry back to the bungalow for our daily sunset appointment at our special table. A couple of beers later and we were ready for dinner. Scoped out the beach for where we plan to sit tomorrow. Tested the chairs at many watering holes and found the most comfortable at the Sea Bar. About 10 feet from the waters edge, it seemed like it would do. So today after breakfast we went back and set up for the day. I'm not complaining but it was hot. But we got by. Then we went back to our hotel for a massage. One hour each and Amy got a pedicure all for 750 Baht (17.50) total. A fairly good deal, haha. Just had dinner of 4 cokes, 2 big plates of fried rice and 4 healthy size kabobs for 240 Baht (6 USD). Now we are down here thinking of our friends and family. We are going to set up our trip to the outlying islands of Ko Chang marine park, as well as out transport to Siem Reap, Cambodia. The temples of Angor Wat await us. We will check in soon. Thank all of you who are checking in and e-mailing us. We daily await our time on the computer daily to see the friends and family who are thinking of us.

I was thinking that you should stay away from the Bhuddas as they facilitate fertility, I read that somewhere. Hope you brought the gift we got you!! Sorry about Buddy. You know I'm not much for cats buy I could pet him because he wasn't pretencious.
The ski trip is back to Utah now. Can't wait. No snow at Wolf Creek this year. It sounds like things are going as planned. Let me know when the madness begins.
By the way, is there a secret password to get to the nudies? Shark
Picture for Mom
Jody and I like the elephant picture of you and Amy. So I printed it and called Mom to tell her I had a photo for her refrigerator. I told her about your cat and she was very sorry for you. They are coming over Sunday to read your blog and enjoy your photo's. I also told you about my police friend, Greg Forbis. He is home and newly married. He is on his way back to Thialand in a couple of days. He said he will be in Chaing Mae for the water festival in April. I told him you had mentioned that event to me and I said you might be there. He said if you are there at that time you need to swap e-mails with him. He will give you a phone number and you can have dinner and visit with his new family in Chaing Rie (sp). Be safe.
