Hello! We just got back from the beautiful island of Elba and I just wanted to let everyone that I am dropping out of Gonzaga and will be residing there permanently. Okay, maybe not quite yet, but it was sooo gorgeous and the weather could not have been much better. It was sunny everyday we were there and the water was the perfect temperature. We left early Friday morning from Florence and got into Elba around 12:30pm. It's a pretty big island full of small towns every couple miles. We stayed in the town called Porto Azzurro (I don't remember exactly which direction it was on the island..) and it was very cute. We had a really good pizza for lunch and then went and jumped into the Mediterranean Sea...just because we could. Had a good dinner later that night and then hung out on the beach with pretty much everyone who went to Elba from our program.

The next day we went on a hike. Not just any hike, an INTENSE hike. Our itinerary said "hike up a mountain, moderate difficulty with a few steep rocks along the way." But that was definitely a lie. I would say it was the equivalent of exercising on the stair stepper for 21/2 hours! Everyone was out of breath once we got to the top but the view was UNREAL. It was one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen in my life. It overlooked the entire island and from that high up you couldn't even tell where the ocean ended and the sky began. Unfortunately, my camera's battery decided to die the day before so I couldn't get any pictues. Other people said the pictures didn't come close to capturing the amazing-ness of the view, but I'll still steal some from them and post them on here anyway. Then they took us to a town called Marino del Campo for a couple hours where there was a beach to play on. THEN we went back, had dinner, and passed out from a busy day. It was a very good weekend, and I can't wait till next weekend when we go to Cinque Terre!! I'll upload pictures on here soon, I just need to charge my battery in my camera.

Ciao for now!
