Today was the castle district. Had a good look round St Vitus Cathedral which is the first cathedral Ive seen thats been more impressive than Canterbury Cathedral, probably cos its a Catholic cathedral and catholic churches always seem to be more decorative. Climbed the 287 steps to the top of the tower - boy did i feel each of those steps - and took in the fantastic views from the top. Yelled at some dickhead American on the way up actually. Its a very narrow tightly spiraled staircase and i'm a bit nervous going up it so I'm trying to go up on the left of the staircase where its wider but everyone is coming down on that side. so i sidestep some people coming down only to hear this moron complaining 'she must be a Brit they always go on the left hand side' to which i yelled down 'screw you, idiot i'm trying not to get pushed down the stairs by twats like you'. Seriously I know its too easy to take the piss out of and moan about American tourists but they really dont help themselves, they make it too easy to do. They have been top of my annoying list followed by groups of Aussies (on their own they're fine but a group of Aussie students? annoying as hell) and Italians who always seem to be talking at the tops of their voices. Xenophobic rant over. So had a look round the Royal Palace which is oddly rather empty, felt a little disappointed by it actually, and then went down Golden Lane. The lane used to be workers cottages but is now a lane of tiny little gift/souvenir shops. Its kinda how you imagine that lane in Harry Potter where he goes to get all his stuff for school only cleaner and not scary! There was loads more to see of the Castle area, loads of gardens and grounds but i felt a bit too knackered for it all....
