The 70 km ride to reach Mae Hong Son was a pleasure..
In my 3 days break, i could rest well and did the journey in only 2h40 minutes..
Once in the city , i met Marcella and Jo later in the evening.. Marcella is from Italy and Jo from UK, studying in China.. Such a clever girl..
We spent the evening together, I couldn't have learned more about China.. she even translated the drawing on my t-shirt, I was happy to know it means "double happiness".. Marcella was there the day before in Chiang Mai and she told me something.. she confirmed.... Something I cannot tell you now.. But something will happen very soon.. I just can feel that.. And believe me, it will be very strong and emotional.. Well, at least for me...
This city is one of my favorite now.. Quiet and open, was the magical atmosphere of Thailand is still present here. I left the city after two nights to reach Pai.. Well , after 60 km of huge climb, ups and downs, I stopped in a small village where I asked to put my tent somewhere.. Some villagers brought me to the only one lady whom spoke English.. She was so happy to see a Farang stopping at her place.. I received a place in the house, could take a warm shower and stay for dinner.. When her husband came home, he proposed me to go visit the Lisu, a hill tribe 20 km away in the mountains and celebrating new year just that night! The ride there was like a safari, the village will not be found on any maps and is not accessible by road in the raining season.. Once there, everybody came to see "the crazy Farang travelling by bicycle" and I tasted a lot of local specialties.. After, I enjoyed the traditional dancers who dance around a tree where Heads of pig are hanging to keep the bad spirits away..
That night was magic.. I never saw so many stars hanging in the sky before..
Orion, I just could touch it..
