Got on traint o Rome, it was hard to shift through the crowds, except for a nun, whom they all let past.  Sat wuth a sleeping Italian couple and eventually got to Rome, promptly left at the wrong exit and ended up in a ghetto- went to a hotel to ask for directions to my hostel and was told "everyone comes to ask me! i should start charging people!", I then went back to termini, figured out my mistake and left via the correct exit and found my hostel- the staff, an Irishman and a Czech girl, were very nice (according to the bloke "the people around the train station are all homeless or gypsies")- showed me the directions to the nearest bar, couldfn't fgind, so I got a beer from a shop, the lad there had a broken tooth, which he said was the result of opening beers with your teeth, he then said the police would only stop me for drinking in Rome if they wanted a sip...ok.
Went back to the hostel and was rocked to sleep by the sound of Singaporese girls chatting about bollocks...oh well.

Woke up early and wandered through town (via some very untouristy areas..) to the Colloseum, and the Palatinate and forum, , asll beautiful, although they got me thinking- in 2000 years will we wander the ruins of Washington DC?.  Interesting thought that....well..maybe.. after that I wandered through the streets of Rome, lots of policemen around with submachine guns though,,Italy is exceptionally draconian- they can hold you for three years without trial and their internet is heavily controlled according to the youth hostel computers.
