After (eventually) finding my check-in desk (and it took a while...trust me) I passed through security- slowing down the entire process by complying with a request to empty my pockets into the trays provided..(a mistake previously made by the Norwegian border guards and the Prince of Monacos finest palace guards).luckily the bloke running it found it funny, unlike in England, where such things would be treated with a timely taser-bolt.
I then found a built in English pub and grabbed a few beers before eating a pizza in a restuarant upstairs before passing through check-in.  Which was all perfect, best you can expect from an airport and I had time to called Jonathon Astles (Poves manager at work) a wanker on facebook. All in all, good times.
   General impressions of Finland
-Helsinki isn't the most beautiful city on this trip, but its very cool, like a parallel universe in some ways, a parallel universe which is slightly more expensive
-Finns seem like nice people, very helpful and kind, although I think they have a darker edge to them than other Scandinavians
-Finnish beer is far from the best on Earth
-Certainly worth visiting if you're in the area
