Well, to say that there is a lot to do in St. Thomas is an understatement.  But, with all of that hustle and bustle, I really just wanted to see the town.  On our ship, the crew had preached over and over that St. Thomas was the place to spend your money in the Caribbean.  I, however, was not interested in shopping.  I was interested in exploring this famous Caribbean city.  We docked on the west side of the island in St. Thomas Harbor, right beside a British Naval vessel and the portside shops which were still being built on this side of the island.  We had to take a taxi from the dock to downtown.  Now, don't worry, there were plenty there waiting on their guaranteed fares getting off of the ship.  For $5 a head, we were herded to town.

The rest of the group, of course, wanted to go shopping.  I spent my time walking along Veterans Drive which stretches along the coast in downtown.   There was plenty to see and take in.  I watched the para-sailors zipping about in the harbor for a while until the multi-million dollar yachts started to appear and dock right on main street.  After I finally got my eyes off of the glistening, money soaked boats, I turned back towards town just in time to catch a blues horn band playing their way down the middle of the street.  After getting a few seconds on camera, I started looking for a place to eat.  We had all decided that we would find somewhere in town to grab a bite.  After a little searching, the smell of the food caught our attention as we walked by The Green House.  It is basically a covered bar/restaurant/nightclub on main street.  It didn't take long and we were inside putting the grub down on some delicious food.
After our meal was complete and the women's purses were empty, we all made our way back to a cab and to the ship.  Another successful day in the Caribbean... and hey... I didn't spend a dime!
