On Friday it was school trip day. It appears that in South Korea you do not go on a trip with everyone in your school, or even everyone in your year, but with each individual homeroom (which is like a class!). You discuss with your homeroom teacher where you want to go, then you take a vote and thats settled! As I dont have a class of my own I was free to decide who I wanted to go with. I obviously needed to go with an English speaker, so I narrowed down my options and decided to spend a day on the beach with Mr. Lee's class (who's real name is Lee, Young Woo)!

So we had to be at school be 7.30 am on Friday - which really wasnt easy for me. We set off on our coach, winding our way through the mountains that separate Daegu and Busan. We passed through several small villages, which we are yet to explore. Finally arriving in Busan, the kids ran from the bus onto the beach then just stopped, looking for direction. It suddenly dawned on me that I was not only going along for a bit of fun, but to also entertain the kids! So we played a game, which I re-named 'lets throw the ball as hard as we can at Emma'! I did not like this game, but in the spirit of school trip I played along!

Soon the girls were bored, and the boys had run out of new places to give Emma a bruise! So we played avoid ball, or as we call it 'dodge ball'! Of course they all wanted to throw the ball at Emma - can you see the pattern developing here? So I sacrificed several members of my team in order to protect myself! Eventually I was taken out my a boy half my height!

It was now time for the next game, the water pistol game! I had a gun the size of a pea, one squirt and I was done, they all had bloody super soakers! And yes, you can image who they targeted! I aptly named this game ' lets soak emma, and if that doesn't work let just push her over so the sand just stick to her coz she is wet'! It was fun!

By this time the beach was full of kids. It appeared that all the schools had the same idea as us and had headed to the beach! I cannot tell the kids apart, and I didnt know which were mine and which were not, so I was just rounding them all, up then Mr. Lee decided if they were keepers or not! Some of the elementary school kids were to engrossed in staring at the white person that they forgot about the sea and tumbled in - which made me laugh out loud!

We then played several more games, including a game of football baseball - when I asked what the rules were I was told ' its just like baseball'! Which meant nothing to me, so I just made my own rules up - it appears it was a non-contact sport - but I had to find that out the hard way!!

After 6 hours of sports on the beach we all piled back onto the bus and headed home, no sooner was I on the bus, my eyes were closed and I was snoring my head off! Needless to say I had a great time, and I think that the kids did too!
