We've been planning this trip for many many months and we're almost set to go. We're flying out of SFO mid-day tomorrow.
We are going to be traveling around Europe for 9 weeks. We're visiting 7 countries and 17 cities. We hope to see as much as possible, meet some great people, experience many different cultures, and learn as much as we can!
While it may feel a little chaotic now-as we're both running around trying to take care of last-minute things-the trip is actually very well planned and we're very prepared. We hope to have some freedom and spontaneity, we've found that being unprepared can result in not having a place to stay or being forced to stay at a undesirable or expensive place. So we've mapped out where we're going to be each day, and booked a bunch of hostels. We're also using CouchSurfing.org, a non-profit org that connects people from all over the world who are looking to experience a local culture and need a place to stay. We've talked to a few people through CouchSurfing, and we're excited for the opportunities it will bring us!
Anyway, must get back to getting ready, but thanks for reading. We'll try to post regularly, and guaranteed we'll have much more stories and photos to share in the near future!

Just read your getting started message and your email about having arrived in Madrid. It's great that you got so prepared and yet seem to be flexible enough to change plans at the last minute. That's a good balance!
I can hardly wait to get more news (and have more vicarious adventure)!!!!
