From Douarnenez we drove to Le Mont-Saint-Michel.  As it is a 3hr drive and we wanted to go to at least one of the D-Day beaches, then to Versaille for a hotel, we left around 7AM.  Greg drove our little red Citroen, Jon and I read the map, and I did the backseat driving of course!
Thank goodness it was only two days with five of us in that little car!

Le Mont-Saint-Michel is definately one of the got to go places in France. When we arrived the tide was going out and the parkinglots were reappearing.  The place was already crawling with tourists as Easter is the start of high season in France.  The village below the Monastery is very quaint and has lots of interesting things to see if you have the time to see it all.  We focused on the Monastary, but noticed there is a hotel there too! There are lots of places to stay very near as well.

To  think that building of this Monastary began in the 11th Century is hard to grasp. Over the centuries after many additions this is how it looks today.  It was a cold and drafty place, but also very beautiful and amazing.

I will add more info later, enjoy the pics!
