Today Gina and the girls, Avia (4) and Esme (2) came over. We gave them a tour of our house and she took us down to the beach. It's only about two minutes walk from our house. Gina told us there are a lot of walking trails that you can reach from the beach, and pointed out the Thalasso spa, where you can swim or work out.

We made plans to meet for dinner tonight. More pictures of Douarnenez and our house later.

HI Val, Em, and Natash,

What a fabulous adventure!!! Good for you! I will read your blogs to see how you are doing and will be a bit envious as I read of your adventures. French men love Canadian women - so Em and Natash smile away - your mom can always go have a coffee - :)!!! It has been 27 years since I was in France and I truly enjoyed it and have fond memories. Great food loved their bread and cheese and coffee!! The Museum D'orsay and the Louvre were among my favorite museums. Do let us know about your accomodations and where you are staying. Take lot of pictures.

Love Tam

I should looked at your pictures before I sent my last comment. They are beautiful and so nice and clear. I tried to print some but that didn't go so well. I'll get some from you when you get home. The streets look very narrow and all the cars on them look small alright. Is the beach sandy or is it rocky? Those are two sweet little kids you have to entertain you ha! You'll have fun I can tell. Love Granny

Hello there Jansen girls! We just read all your entries and saw your pictures!!! Sounds like you are having a great trip so far! Great pictures of Paris landmarks! Your house looks great and those little girls are so darn cute!!! We laughed at your story about all the luggage in the aisle and trying to fit it into the little car!!! What has been your favourite thing so far? Have you been able to watch any of the Olympics? We will email you :)

I'm so impressed at your undertaking. I would never have dreamt of leaving the continent without Reno so wow! Your experience with Paris and travel brings back wonderful memories of our trip to Europe with the kids inJuly of '08. We also stayed less then 10 min from the Effiel tower and only had to walk through the long park to get to it. I totally relate to the baggage story as we did 3 countries. And you were in what they consider a large rental car. Just follow the coast line south, and you will find Archachaan near Bordoux where we enjoyed France the most. I hope you took your own GPS as the one we rented with the car was frequently referred to as the GP_itch.

We've put some pictures of the beaches and they are nice soft sand,as you can see.
I have been missing the Olympics as they only have snipets on the news, all regarding french atheletes of course, no english channels! I guess Canada and theOlympics is not the center of the universe here!
So far we are enjoying the bread and the cheese the most! I bought a $4 bottle of wine that was great too! Paris was fun and we'll get back to see more at some point I hope. Douarnenez is very sleepy so far and we are enjoying it.

Let us know when you are coming to visit!
