Well, this is no doubt shocking news to hear the girls and I are going to France, but that is indeed our story and we are extremely excited.
This was actually Greg's idea! As he has a patient Todd Babiak who is presently in Douarnenez, Brittany, France, with his family.
Todd is a writer with the Edmonton Journal. He and his wife, Gina have two little girls (2&4). Greg suggested sending our girls over to France to work as nannies for them, as Emily and Natasha are both in French Immersion High school.
After lots of emails and phone calls our plans have finally taken shape in the last few weeks.
We will leave Edmonton this Monday Feb 15 and arrive in Paris the next morning at 9:40. our plans are to stay in Paris until Saturday, then we will take the Train to Brest,Brittany, which is 4 1/2 hours west of Paris, near the Atlantic coast. From Brest we will drive to Douarnenez and our temporary new home in Douarnenez.
We have set up this blog so anyone interested can keep in touch with us and what we are doing.
So we hope you enjoy it!
Hope to blog again upon our arrival in Paris
Au Revoir!

Emily here,
Not much to say except that I'm incredibly excited to go to France and experience living there for a few months. It hasn't really sunk in yet but I'm sure it will when we arrive at Edmonton International airport. I'm going to miss you all my friends and I hope you have a great time while I'm gone too.
Ta ta for now :)

Miss you too Em. =) Have a great and wonderful time. Take lots of pictures and don't get homesick.
Wow . . . I'm so jealous . . . wonderful cheeses, breads and chocolate!!! Enjoy your time there and take it all in, it sounds like it will be a wonderful experience. Can't wait to hear all about your adventures :)
you DID bring razors, right?
The funny thing is there are tons of shaving and hair removal products at the supermarket. We'll know once warmer weather comes if the myth is true!
