So we arrived in Bali after a LONG day. The boat crossing took about 30 minutes and then the car took about 2 hours. We could instantly see that Bali was very different to Java. Bali was filled with other white people and they had actual tarmac roads with road markings, wow! We arrived in Lovina on the north coast and it was beautiful. It was a sleepy little town with a few shops and bars and a long black volcanic sand beach. We had dinner and then me, Bluebell and Matt went out to a bar and watched some live music, we had a couple of Bintangs (local beer, oh I've decided I like beer now LOL) and there weren't many people there so we made a few song requests and then the singer invited us all on stage so me and Bluebell sang and Matt played guitar! It was really fun - probably not so much for the few people watching us, deafened by two bad singers!
The next day was pretty boring - my first boring day! Byron and Sarah went off scuba diving and the rest of us just chilled out. Went on the internet in the morning then me, Bluebell and Matt were going to have a little sunbathe sesh and a swim, after lying there 5 minutes, it started raining! As it often does here. So I read some book for a bit then the 3 of us went out to a cafe and got some pancakes and fried pineapple. Then we went and sat on the beach after the rain died down. It was lovely to just watch the sea and listen to the waves, then the guys from the band rocked up and played some choons on the beach for us! In the evening we had a traditional Balinese dinner at a lady's house that she had been cooking all day - I think it was quite possibly the best meal I've ever had and there was so much of it! Lots of tuna too mmm. We went out to a bar and watched another band.
The next morning we got up at 5.30am to get a boat out on the sea to watch dolphins at sunrise - it was amazing! And saw so many dolphins, they jumped out of the water about 5 or 6 at a time in unison and every now and again they would all do a massive jump. The only problem was that the boat was tiny and the sea was choppy so me and Blue felt pretty seasick! In the afternoon we had a swim in the pool then left for Tirta Gangga.
