Well, since we last wrote we indeed partied.
When they say "free drinks" at ladies night in HK, they really mean free drinks! The boys were paying 5pounds/pint and we were paying.. nothing.. for anything. Oh my. We of course did not drink too many of the free drinks, being sensible girls who know our limits. I (ER) did not fall of a chair. We had a really good night out :)

Due to our restraint we spent the next day feeling fabulous. The ferry to Macau was very good as we were totally not hungover in anyway. The ferry was a turbojet, which looked a lot like it had been designed by a rocket designer. Got ourselves some more passport stamps getting into Macau too

In Macau we didn't do too much as there isn't much to do.
We ate some portuguese food, looked at some portugese architechture and also went to a casino. Macau is the only place in the whole of china you can gamble!
Emma White is a gambling genius and put in 50p and won 5 pounds on the slots!!
Amazing luck!! I won nothing...
We did have some photos but a woman made us delete them, apparently its not cool to take photos when gambling

Next day, we got to the airport the next day in plenty of time and boarded our flight to Bangkok.
Macau airport is rubbish, i'd not recommend it, not enough shops and not any kind of snack foods.

When we got of the plane in Bangkok it was hot. HOT!!! :D hooray!
We met an American called Grif who was not sure where to go so he tagged along with us to our hotel, which did indeed make our taxi fare cheaper. The hostel we booked online is miles away, perhaps 30mins from the town centre booo. BUT it is the plushest hostel in the world. It has a pool. A ROOFTOP POOL (see pictures) and the rooms are more like hotels than what we're used to, there a  fridge and a balcony and all sorts!

We walked down the road and found a nice place to eat and drink. We managed to order from the menu with thai translated phonetically into English quite sucessfully, got some fish and some soupy thing which were v nice.
Bought a few beers and went and sat on the roof watching the world go by.

The next day we got up early and went to get our Visas for Vietnam. Unfortunately we forgot it was a Saturday and the consulate was closed. Epic fail, we're going to get them in Kuala Lumpur in protest.
We went into town to see the sights! We took the sky train to get into town, which is pretty awesome. Then we took the underground, which was empty in a postapocalyptic film manner. Then we took a ferry bus up river, which was awesome.

We went to the palace and to see the emerald buddha temple Wat Prha Kao. The must sees in Bangkok, despite a man trying to tell us it was closed in bangkokscam style. We weren't dressed appropriately so had to hire some sexy sexy shirts to form a school trip look (see pics). Temple was the shiniest place we have ever ever been, so so beautiful! The Palace had some amazing topiary, monks and some guards in suitably silly dress.
Stomachs rumbling we set of to Khao San Road, the place to be for backpackers. It was really odd being around so many white faces again, we though were perhaps the whitest. We shopped for summer clothes as our underlayers were left quite a while ago. Had a few snacks and admired the westerners.
Got a taxi home and then went to the restaurant closest to our hostel for ease. Having spent too much on traveller based floaty skirts etc we decided it was best to go home rather than spend more money!

We checked the weather and apparently next week, when we're planning to go to beaches, it is planning to rain. Its not monsoon season for another month or two!!! we seem to be bringing rain with us.

Incase of terrible weather we spent the whole of today (Sunday) by the pool sipping coca cola and burning to  a crisp in the midday sun. Well if theres a pool there we should use it right?
Will go get something to eat and then spend tommorrow on a train or a bus going to Ko Samui, island paradise where it will no doubt rain, but we can find a phase of the moon to celebrate...

Lots of Love
