Bought some steak and a bottle of red for dinner and cooked them up for a nice dinner.
We have had great reports on the cruise on Lake Argyle and the Ord River by Triple-j cruises, so we booked that for tomorrow - it's an all-day event. Today became a sightseeing day - We drove out to Ivanhoe crossing. This was the crossing to Wyndham built the same year Michael was born (and he was brought up in Ivanhoe so this seemed significant). The crossing is currently closed due to the amount of water flowing across it, so we couldn't drive across. But it was quite unusual, the way it curves across the Ord river. we then went up to the lookout for a good view over the town and surrounds. We had originally planned to spend a night at Wyndham, but since it is only 100km away, we have decide to stay in Kununarra and so we headed across to see what Wyndham has to offer. We had been told that the Five Rivers lookout was pretty special and that Wyndham had the best pie shop in Australia. The lookout was very high and offerred a very wide view of the intersection of these rivers - The Ord, Pentecost, Durack, Forrest and King rivers all then flowing out to sea. Unfortunately, it was pretty hazy due to the burning off, so our photos aren't real good, but the view is pretty interesting. The pie shop was really busy and we were lucky to get a pie each - they were pretty good! After that, Wyndham does not seem to have much more to offer, so we headed back.
