Well we got up this morning and had out tour guides pick us up to white water raft class 4 rapids in the Toro River.  The Toro River Powers an hydroelctric plant and because of the high sulfur content there are no fish in the water.
We picked up some other people along the way and a little over an hour later we were at the river.  everyone from our hotel ( our group of 3, Luca, and a couple from belgium) were in one raft and the other people were in another.  Our tour guides name was Didier and he was a big sweetheart.
We took a lesson in the commands and a safety lesson and practived paddling in sync with each other.  the boys carried the raft to the water and we got in and started paddling.  Almost immediately the two rafts collided so we had to paddle really hard to get out of that.
We continued down the river and in one of the rapids I fell out.  ( see below the photographer got the whole thing)  I was scared to death.  We were told to lay flat on our backs and float but the water was so fast i was just getting sucked under and i was freaking out.  I was stuck under the current for awhile ( see the pics)  i finally caught a break and they were paddling hard cus we were circling in different directions.  I finally could get my head above water and i could see Didier reaching over the edge with his  paddle for me to grab.  he pulled me back in the raft and i collapsed in the well of the raft and coughed and gasped for air.  I lost my paddle so the guys in the individual rafts located it as well as my lost shoe.

We kept on going and went through 85 rapids.  We stopped a few times to rest, swim or wait for the other raft.  We stopped to swim at one point but i stayed in the raft cus the water was deep and it was such a pain to pull yourself into the raft if you couldnt stand.  well it didnt matter cus the guides from the other group came over and grabbed me from behind and flipped me into the water.  haha

we went through more rapids and they stopped and cut and prepared a bunch of fruit for us which was delicious.    at the end they had manny ride the front of the raft and they called that riding the bull as the last rapid they call Toro.  When we finished rafting they took us to a restaurant for some traditional Costa Rica food.

We went back to Kokoro and i passed out for quite awhile.  I think James actually was a trooper and stayed awake reading and manny clear passed out even longer than i did.

That night Filico and James cooked all of us a big meal and we ate it all.  We took it easy that night and chilled in the room watching the Aviator.
