The journey around the east cape took us driving along State highway 35, apparently one of the best journeys in NZ, and it definatly lived up to the reputation! (although all the windy windy roads certainly had a habit of making us all feel a little green at times!!)
It was a beautiful journey along some amazing coastlines and some really small and strange town....really about 10houses and a small store, and we'd get stares from all as we drove through. Really cool to see though.
Hicks Bay (named after Captain Cooks dog!) is a gorgeous little bay with nice clear sea, which alot of us made the most of a went for a swim, even though the water was bloody cold! The hot sunshine warmed you back up in about 5minutes, and straight away you wanted to go back in!!
