As you can tell we have reached the second last leg of our journey, Cres, Croatia. We had another small setback in Belgrade because it turned out that the bus we intended on taking did not run daily. Instead we took a night bus which meant no sleep and arrival in Rijeka at 4:00AM. It is amazing how early the sun rises, and even more surprising how slow time moves when you are waiting for a connecting bus to the island of Cres which leaves at 8:15AM.
Travel Tip: If we had to choose a single most important item that we brought on this trip it would have to be the deck of cards. Just make sure you know more than "Crazy Eights" or "Cheat". Those two games do not work too well with only two people.
After counteless games of cards and one unforgetable bus trip from Rijeka to Cres we were finally able to meet up with Marko's other grandparents.
Once again we found ourselves receiving warm hospitality and unbelievable food! Marko´s grandparents in Cres had a beautiful room prepared for us that is usually used by tourists during the summer. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and make sure that we have an enjoyable trip.
The island of Cres itself is paradise on earth. We have had a great time swimming, tanning, hiking and boating. The island provides anything a person might want in order to enjoy the outdoors.
