Expecting to arrive back into the fast pace city life, Kathmandu was in fact much more subdued than the indian cities, much less populated and although a buzz was still present, the absence of mutilated beggars and overly pushy salesmen was appreciated. We visited the famous monkey temple and the following day after the tour ended and we'd said our goodbyes we took an excursion to Durbar Square, the centre of Kathmandu, home to numerous temples and the old residence of Nepal's former monarchy.
