Booked to go rafting with 'Wave', a company recommended to us on grade 3/4 rapids.  Were taken by our guide, Warner, first to see some huge iguanas on trees by another river.  They were massive and many were orange and strutting their stuff as are in the mating season.  Also saw a tiny baby poisonous frog, variety called blue jeans as they have blue legs but a red top off.  Then we went to the river and had our safety briefing. Think we all looked terrified afterwards.

Had 6 in our raft with David (not Lees - thankfully) as our guide.  Warner was in the front kayak showing off his tricks all the way down the river.  Rapids were very impressive and we were both more scared than last time in Pucon.  Think Daves' dad will be jealous we went without him!   Dave rode the bull (sat on the front of the raft and clung on for dear life)  for some of the rapids, I hasten to add I didnt wimp out just didnt have the opportunity to do it as well.

It took us a while to get the hang of rowing again but we all got there and had a good team.  We also surfed some of the rapids and then went down some others backwards.  Had a good snackbreak which was needed as your arms hurt after a bit.
Scenery was amazing too, although we werent really focusing on that most of the time!  Great trees, butterflies, storks and we even saw howler monkeys.  Fortunately all managed to stay intact and in the boat til the end.  Except as we were pulling up to shore one of our team fell out but was fine.

Had a lovely lunch before heading home through forest, papaya and pineapple plantations with millions growing in them  weird plants to look at.  Again pretty shattered but very impressed with the whole day and the organisation.  Would definitely recommend Wave if anyone is going to La Fortuna.

Back home sorted out laundry (our last of the trip??) and packed up ready to leave tomorrow.  More cable tv and are now realising that the novelty is wearing off of US crime programmes.
