Up early for breakfast before getting the bus onto Punta Arenas. I sleep again as the scenery is pretty desolate until we approach the sea and then the airport here. All get off and wait for Tony´s plane back to Santiago before he heads back to London. Are sad for him to go and we reminisce over what we have done the last couple of weeks which has flown by in some ways but feels like ages since we were in Santiago last.

Feels weird when he has left that we are on our own again.

Get bus into the town which is pretty big and start our regular wander for accom get picked up by a van that takes us a way out of town but is cheap (Residencial Ely - 10,000 pesos or 10 quid for 2 with ensuite bathroom and cable tv and breakfast!) Go for a walk into town and have another eat as much as you want buffet which is lovely and only 3,500 pesos each. Do some supermarket shopping as have a kitchen here and have to get back on budget again! Lots of lovely very french looking colonial buildings around town. Wander along the rubbish strewn coast and wonder at some lovely houses and then some shacks, is a funny place. Later on go to the cemetry here with some huge ornate coffins and lots of graves for British, German and Croatians amongst many others, this is a real immigrant town. Very well kept gardens too. Enjoy dinner in front of our telly.

Today we have wandered around the Plaza de Armas, church and the port and in a few shops is nice to relax a bit in a town. Are booked to head to Ushuaia very south tomorrow and should be a long day. Are updating the blog after a couple of weeks break and are pleased to be fully up to date again. Are lots of other photos not in the text too just so you know!

Am sure we will do another update before our next exciting voyage, Antarctica, can hardly wait.

Hasta luego!
