Last night chilled out in front of the telly with a pizza and some wine - felt like home!

Today up early again and said our goodbyes to Jon and Martin and got a taxi to the Cementary area to get a bus to Copacabana except there were none to be seen. Apparently blockade is not even semi over but should be tomorrow - have I heard that before at all? Instead we got a minibus to Desaguedero which is another border town which took a lot less time than we imagined (makes a change). Did the usual passport things and left Bolivia a bit sad that we didnt stay longer esp as we wanted to do Copacabana and Isla del Sol. Then walked into Peru and they let us in too. Surely Daves reputation must catch up with him at some point.

Manage to get our own minibus (the 4 of us) to Puno for only 40 Soles (about 6 to the pound) for the drive with a couple of photo stops at the Lake. Lake Titicaca is absolutely massive and is a beautiful deep blue colour which is a great contrast to the snow covered mountains in the distance. Arrived in Puno early afternoon (clocks gone back an hour here we realised after a few hours!) and found a nice hotel for 35 Soles a room with tv (thankfully for Monday). We then had a nice lunch at a restaurant where Jonno tried cuy more commonly known as guinea pig which has a bit of a gamey taste to it. Found it a bit disconcerting to see its little teeth still in though! I had ceviche which is marinated raw fish cooked in lime juice was v nice.

After a wander around Puno which is an ok town but is pretty touristy and doesnt have a vast amount to offer apart from the lake. We booked a tour for the next couple of days out onto the lake itself with Allways travel agency who were more expensive but promised fewer people and that the family we would stay with would get more money. Neither of these turned out to be true but we had a good trip nonetheless (but you can read about that later).

Had a nice 3 course meal in the evening for 15 soles each before an earlyish night ready for our trip tomorrow...........or so we thought.

Dave and I woke up with 5 minutes of each other feeling ill and it became fairly clear we shouldnt go on the trip today so we all decided to postpone til tomorrow which was ok with the agency. Spent the day in bed and you dont want to know any more details. Fortunately have some antibiotics with us so started on these straight away. Have had more antibiotics in the last 8 months than I have in the last 18 years I think.
