Go out to do last shop for a final cook group meals as we will be travelling a couple of days into Brazil and according to our maps there are no real towns.

Get on the road and stop at the border which is very swish the Venezuelan side and get stamped out. As we enter Brazil the heavens open and we have to walk back from the truck to get stamped into Brazil. Get pretty wet in the process.

Have enjoyed Venezuela and have seen a lot here. Def high points have been Angel Falls, Gran Sabana camping and Playa Colorado. People have been friendlier since we got to Caracas too. Still think we prefer Columbia though and would like to have done more there.

Anyway we got let into Brazil and realised that we now have to speak Portuguese. Bloody pain as we had just got our heads around Spanish!

Started driving south expecting the roads to deteroriate as they dont have as much oil money in Brazil and also the road is going through the jungle to Manaus. Roads are ok despite odd pothole filled with sand. Odd small town on the way and then junglish although a lot of it is slashed and burnt. As we approach dusk we panic to find a bush camp. Go off road and find a marshy field and crawl through barbed wire to get into it. Sleep ok despite the fear of the noisy creatures outside coming in!

Re: hello
Hi there - not sure we can help easily - we went from border to Manuas with the overland trip and then we flew to the coast. It'd be a hell of a long drive!

I am Planning to travel by motorbike from Venezuela to Brazil .
I was wondering if It's safe to camp in North Brazil ( From Boa vista to Manaus ) and If the road its suitable for motorbikes.

Looking forward to hear from you.
