Up early again and heading south via a few more waterfalls. Stop at Jasper Falls which is about 15 mins walk from the road. The bedrock is red and orange and looks like a pavement almost with all the erosion. Go for a paddle and the falls are lovely too.

Keep pressing onward to Santa Elena which is the border town. We arrive early afternoon and were planning to camp but instead find a cheap hostel which is good so we can have another shower and a proper bed. Have a siesta and then go for a wander to find out whether we want to stay here another day or not or do a trek etc. Tour agencies dont seem to want to tell us about nearby mine tours etc but mainly about Roraima trek which is to the nearby table mountains and looks amazing. Unfortunately we are here at the wrong time of year for it otherwise we would probably go for it. Wandering around town doesnt take very long as its Sunday a lot is shut too. Internet is expensive and v slow here so dont bother!

Later on meet up with the group to see what we decide to do next. All agree to move on tomorrow instead of staying an extra day as was originally planned.
