Slept v well and had a great brekkie at the bakery near our hotel. Have a group meeting to discuss the plan of action. Have a few days here to do whatever before we go onto Los Llanos in the jungle. Some of us are going to Lake Maracaibo tomorrow to see the villages on stilts and wildlife and electric storms at night (a natural phenomenon which happens 300 ish days a year). Today is a free day so we wander around town to find somewhere to change dollars. Get a much worse rate in banks although most people cant find a bank that will actually change money. Better rate in travel agencies 2400 Venezuelan Bolivares to the $. Try and use ATM but all want some strange code in addition to pin numbers which none of us know. Get the impression that despite this being more touristy than Colombia that they actually have more blocks up in our way too which we werent expecting!

Town here is in lovely scenery with mountains around us and the worlds longest cable car which we hope to do later this week. Town itself is not v exciting (have spent most of day trying to find money or somewhere that we can upload photos to this to no avail). Are about to go to the famous icecreamery which offers 100 diff flavours a day and 600 different a week including trout or spaghetti. Think will be less adventurous than that though!

Apols again for dreary story telling but have had a lot to catch up on and it is actually pretty hot here now.

Adios for now.
